Switzerland have made a stunning start to this UEFA Nations League (UNL) cycle and will be looking to continue their perfect start against an undefeated Slovenia outfit.

Match News and Current Form

After suffering relegation from League A for the first time in a horrendous 2024/25 campaign, Switzerland have come roaring back with consecutive 3-0 away wins over North Macedonia and Scotland to establish a strong promotion bid. The Red Crosses have built on the confidence a run to the quarter-finals at the World Cup would’ve instilled in them, as they’re now unbeaten within 90 minutes in their last 11 matches (W6, D5). Murat Yakin’s side can tighten their grip on top spot with a win here, and a return of just one defeat in their last eight matches on home soil (W5, D2) provides yet more reason for confidence.

Slovenia’s third successive League B campaign has also begun strongly, having drawn 0-0 with Scotland in their opener before beating North Macedonia 2-0 last time out. Those results will serve as huge confidence boosters for Boštjan Cesar’s men as they were preceded by winning just one of their prior ten games (D5, L4), meaning they’re on their way to maintaining their League B status at a minimum, something that required a play-off in 2024/25. Hitting the road does threaten their bright start though, as they’ve won just one of their last six matches on foreign soil (D2, L3).

Head-to-Head History

Switzerland have avoided defeat in seven of the last eight H2Hs (W6, D1), keeping four clean sheets in the last six meetings.

Hot Stats and Streaks

Four of Switzerland’s last five matches produced a goal before the 25-minute mark.

Switzerland have received under 1.5 yellow cards in 12 of their last 13 competitive games.

Eight of Slovenia’s last ten matches produced under 2.5 goals.

Slovenia have scored before half-time in just one of their last 13 matches.

Key Players to Watch and Missing Players

Zeki Amdouni has been Switzerland’s star player with four goal involvements in this UNL cycle (G3, A1) and he has been on the losing side just once in 12 goalscoring outings for his country (W7, D4). Aljoša Matko opened his account for Slovenia with a late goal against North Macedonia, the sixth of his last eight goals to come after the 80th minute.

Neither side look to have picked up any fresh injuries on matchday two.

Betting Analysis

A Switzerland win without conceding seems likely given their rampant form of late and their H2H dominance.
