Paris FC - Monaco

With both sides having suffered recent slumps, Paris FC and Monaco need to return to form if they’re to keep pace with the early Ligue 1 pacesetters.

Match News and Current Form

Paris FC’s superb start may be starting to tail off, as they squandered the lead to lose 2-1 to Lens last week for a second defeat in three matches (W1). Liam Rosenior’s men start the round in the top six regardless and have the chance to secure five wins before the tenth game of a top-flight season for the first time in club history here. The capital club’s chances are certainly aided by a home fixture as they’ve won eight of their last ten league fixtures at Stade Jean-Bouin (D1, L1), one of which came in last season’s corresponding fixture in April.

Monaco sit a point better off than their hosts here despite a recent slide of their own. Filipe Luís’ men won four of their first five Ligue 1 outings this term (D1), but have failed to win their last three (D2, L1) and needed to come from behind to draw 1-1 with ten-man Lille last week. That sole defeat came in Monaco’s last away game at Lorient (1-0), but that was their only failure to score in their last 11 Ligue 1 trips and their only loss on the road in any competition this season (W4, D1).

Head-to-Head History

The four Paris-held league H2Hs have produced a whopping 20 goals, five of which came in a 4-1 triumph for the hosts last term. Monaco were beaten in both H2Hs last season, but won each of their prior five meetings with Paris.

Hot Stats and Streaks

Paris have trailed for a league-low 29 minutes so far this season.

Seven of the nine goals Paris have conceded in Ligue 1 this term came after half-time.

Monaco have conceded fewer goals from open play than any side in Europe’s top-five leagues this season (2).

Nine of Monaco’s last 11 Ligue 1 away fixtures saw both teams score.

Key Players to Watch and Missing Players

Lassine Sinayoko’s six goals this term have earned Paris a league-high six points, with his last three strikes arriving beyond the 75th minute. With his equaliser against Lille last week, Edan Diop has directly contributed to four goals in Monaco’s last five games (G2, A2), but just two of his last eight scoring appearances ended in wins (D4, L2).

Paris are expected to be without Samir Chergui, Luca Koleosho and Adama Camara here. Monaco’s Ansu Fati is set for a spell on the sidelines.

Betting Analysis

Given H2H trends and how Monaco’s away games have fared, a both teams to score and over 2.5 goals combination looks plausible.
