Bodø/Glimt look to extend a stellar run of European home form against a Lille side who are yet to get off the mark in the UEFA Champions League (UCL) this term.

Match News and Current Form

Bodø/Glimt bounced back from successive defeats in all competitions with a 3-2 win over fellow UCL participants Viking at the weekend. Kjetil Knutsen’s men start matchday four out of the qualification places following a rollercoaster 4-3 defeat to Napoli last time out, while they were also thrashed 5-0 by Bayern Munich in their opener. Sandwiched in between is a 1-0 win over Borussia Dortmund at home, meaning the Norwegian side have won their last six European home games, beating Manchester City and European heavyweights Inter Milan therein, so they’ll expect a response here.

Lille desperately needed the 1-0 win they secured over Lens on Friday, as they languish in 35th place having lost all three league phase matches this season, conceding ten goals in the process. The Mastiffs have now lost a negative club record five consecutive European games, with defensive frailties a clear root cause given that they’re without a clean sheet in a club record 11 UCL matches, while also conceding in their last 13 away from home in the competition. Manager Davide Ancelotti has overseen a three-game winless run in competitive away matches (D1, L2), one of which came in Europe where Lille have lost five of their last six away fixtures (W1).

Head-to-Head History

This is the first meeting between these sides, with Bodø/Glimt failing to win their two previous games against French sides (D1, L1), and Lille winning their sole prior meeting with Norwegian opposition.

Key Players to Watch and Missing Players

Bodø/Glimt's Sondre Brunstad Fet produced a scintillating performance against Napoli (G1, A2), and while all 22 of his club goals have come after half-time, just one of his last four came in a win (D1, L2). Lille teenager Soriba Diaoune burst onto the UCL scene with a brace against Galatasaray, while he also attempted more shots (4) than any player in their win over Lens on Friday.

Bodø/Glimt’s Jens Hauge limped out of their win against Viking, while Lille look to have no fresh issues.

Betting Analysis

The home side are favoured to prevail and goals usually follow them, which makes a bet on Bodø/Glimt to win with over 2.5 match goals a logical approach.
